Karen you're killin me!

I was confined to the office for the day to do some necessary paper work. Unfortunately, the school was overcrowded that day and some other teachers needed my office for their lessons. What followed was an entire day composed of listening to Karen Carpenter's "Yesterday Once More." They absolutely adore this song in Thailand. Ask them about the Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin and they will stare at you as if you have a rock lodged in your forehead. However, mention "Yesterday Once More" and they will surely break into joyous song. In fact, this is an easy way to make friends. I, on the other hand, was having none of it after the 15th playback.

Interview with a Keen Student

Typical school day during my lunch break. While all the other kids are frolicking outside like normal Thai fairies a keen student Joon stays inside to talk to his teacher. He is starting to do this more frequently and it's getting a little annoying. I hope their isn't anything wrong with him.

Back to School

After our fun filled field trip to the Bumibol Dam it was back to school. This is a typical class. A bit boisterous I know but at least the kids are doing the assignment I gave them. Enjoy listening to me attempt to speak Thai with very little success.

I feel like I'm on Mars!

We landed on a desert island and I was bombarded by giddy school children as if I was the fifth Beatle. I took this opportunity to get some space from the roudy children and reflect on the silliness all around me.

Queen of all Lady-boys

Here's Miguel once more! You might think he sounds like a trapped and frightened goose but I think he has a lovely voice. He carries himself with such grace and elegance. I could listen all day!

New Lady Boy

After consuming a few Chang beers with the directors of the school I though it clever to get on stage and dance with the lady boys (my favorite lady boy Miguel who you will see singing in a later post). Much to my surprise I picked the dance up rather quickly, but when Miguel left the stage I felt utterly exposed.

After Christmas it was off to Chiang Mai where we spent a wonderful day at Hung Tao lake. Once at the lake we ordered Dancing Prawns and the rest is history.

Twas the night before Christmas when Andrew attempted to read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and it was a disaster.
